John Durham, the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, said that Waterbury resident Yehudi Manzano, 33, has surrendered himself into custody and has been charged with the production and transportation of child pornography.
As alleged in the indictment, on Aug. 21, 2016, Manzano sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in Connecticut, video recorded the assault with his cell phone, and uploaded the video to his Google account. Manzano was arrested on related charges on Nov. 10 that year. He was released on $300,000 bond and forced to wear an electronic GPS monitor.
The indictment was returned on May 3 this year, and Manzano surrendered himself into custody earlier this week. The case is still under investigation by the FBI and Waterbury Police Department.
According to Durham, the charge of production of child pornography carries a mandatory minimum term of 15 years in prison and the charge of transportation of child pornography carries a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of five years and a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years.
